What happens to storefront blocks and discounts after uninstalling Early Bird?

When Early Bird is uninstalled from a Shopify store, Shopify removes the app’s active connection to the store. Early Bird will no longer be able to manage campaigns, update storefront display data, or create new discounts for that store.

Storefront blocks

Early Bird’s storefront display uses Shopify Theme App Extension blocks. After the app is uninstalled, Shopify automatically removes app blocks associated with the app from online store themes. This means Early Bird product-page or cart display blocks should no longer render on the storefront after uninstall.

If you added any custom theme code manually outside the normal Early Bird theme app block setup, Shopify might not remove that custom code automatically. In that case, remove the custom code from the theme or contact support.

Discounts

Early Bird discounts are created as Shopify automatic app discounts powered by the Early Bird discount function. After uninstalling the app, these app-powered discounts are no longer available to Early Bird and should stop applying at checkout.

Early Bird also listens for Shopify’s app uninstall webhook. When that webhook is received, Early Bird marks affected campaigns as ended in its own records and clears the stored Shopify discount reference. If the app is installed again later, previously removed app discounts are not restored automatically. You need to publish a campaign again to create a new discount.

Before uninstalling

If you want a clean transition, end any active Early Bird campaigns before uninstalling the app. Ending a campaign from Early Bird deactivates the discount and updates the storefront campaign data before the app is removed.

After reinstalling

After reinstalling Early Bird, review your campaign setup, add the storefront app blocks again if needed, and publish a campaign to create fresh Shopify discount records.
